Dr. Fernandez is Founder & Managing Partner of DreamCatcher Ventures (www.dreamcatcher.ventures), based in San Francisco, CA that renders advisory services to clients across the healthcare spectrum. Combining the worlds of technology and finance, Tania works with entrepreneurs and investors to create, build, and scale ventures with a focus on value creation within companies. She is heavily involved in fostering the innovation ecosystem both in Silicon Valley and internationally and works with several leading federal and state initiatives in the United States to help commercialize innovation.

Tania has over 25 years of industry experience in scientific and medical research, venture investing and entrepreneurship. Her expertise spans Therapeutics, MedTech, Diagnostics and Digital Health. She previously was  Director of the Venture Capital Group with a $1.5B healthcare venture fund based in San Francisco, CA and was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing on investment transactions. She also served as General Partner to Biomed Innovations, a seed venture fund based out of Poland. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Fernandez has worked in the healthcare sector in multiple international markets including Asia, Europe, Israel, Scandinavia, and CEE. She has served on several boards and is currently appointed by the U.S. Department of State to serve on the Board of the United States-India Science and Technology Endowment Fund.

Dr Fernandez secured her doctorate at the Cancer Research Institute, India, having been awarded the Indo-US scholarship from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and her post-doctorate at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, USA, both of which she won scientific awards for excellence. She previously trained at Hoechst Pharma.
